The First Annual Heroes4Heroes Live Art Auction after Wizard World Dallas was an outstanding success! Thanks to everyone who worked hard to put together this special event!
On November 11, 2006 Scott Hinze of Fanboy Radio introduced Hereos For Heroes to the world! I couldn’t think of a more fitting day than Veterans Day to announce a charity that benefits our troops. Heroes For Heroes works directly with members of the United States Military and the general public to provide portable media to active troops. Our primary goal is to amplify troop morale by keeping our men and women in uniform culturally tuned-in. We gather, organize, and send entertainment material such as comic books, DVDs, CDs, books, magazines, MP3 players, and game systems.
H4H was the collaboration of Dallas Pollei, Chris McCroskey and Scott Hinze. Great minds think alike and these three guys really wanted to do something for the people that do so much for us. H4H was the benficiary of Fanboy Radio’s 5-Year Birthday Bash, presented by the 2007 film, Bike_Gang! We had an incredible live art show with local artists Cal Slayton, Ben Hall, Brock Rizy, Tom Kurzanski and Kristian Donaldson knocking out some awesome pieces. We even had artists from the crowd, like painter Marc Wolfe, get in on the action with his Wolverine piece.
As the artists finished a piece it was brought to the fron where Emcee Scott Hinze auctioned them off. As you can see from the pictures the room was over flowing with fans and supporters. I would like to thank everyone who supported the show and made the event such a success. H4H raised over $1,000 on the night bringing it’s two week fundraising tally to just over $3,500!
